The past week has seen significant progress in my super-secret (until now) plot to take over the interwebs through total slackitude and generally doing nothing.

First, the original Blog@Newsarama crew decided to strike out on their own (though not before conceding their defeat by quoting my feelings on Batman RIP), and now The Notorious RJP of Between The Staples is going on an indefinite hiatus. Now if I can just get rid of Chris at the ISB, David Brothers at 4thLetter!, Mike Haynes at Panels of Awesome, and the rest of those geeks, I shall own the comic book world!

…or not.

Seriously, though - almost from the very beginning of FTLOC, Robert has been somewhat of a role model for me, someone that I’ve tried very hard to emulate, or at least match. Someone once told me that, in order to improve yourself, you should try to compete against those that you consider your superiors; I’ve been trying to reach Robert’s level for the past year, and I never really have caught his ass. He may be a cranky bastard, but the man knows his comics and he definitely knows what he likes.

Robert - don’t be a stranger, man. We’re going to miss the hell out of you.

I’m still on hiatus, but I may actually get to read some comics tonight, so a return could happen sooner than later.

So…You may have noticed that posts have been very scarce on here lately.

Here’s the thing, folks. I work for a disaster recovery company and, as you might expect, things have been insane since Hurricane Ike hit the Texas/Louisiana coast. I’ve been working 14-hour days, which means next to no writing time. Something had to give and, since I feel that I have to fulfill the obligations that I’ve made to others before I work on my own projects, I’ve decided that For The Love of Comics will have to go on hiatus until I either find someone to do some guest posting or things slow down enough at work to let me read comics - much less write about them.

Incidentally, if you would like to do some guest posting on here, drop a comment on this post or e-mail me at crackerbob@fortheloveofcomics.com. This is really a standing offer, even after I get back to regular posting.

The good news is that things seems to be slowing down into a sustained, regular level of insanity, so I may be back to regular posting sooner than later.

I’m really sorry to disappoint all two of my regular readers; I’ll do my best to get back ASAP.
