The wait is over!

The second trailer for The Dark Knight is now available at http://www.whysoserious.com/happytrails/trailer.htm.

Unfortunately, it’s not the Jokerized version, but it’s still pretty awesome. And I’m pretty sure that scene with Harvey’s head in profile holding the gun by his face is actually a shot of Two-Face. You can almost get a glimpse of some crispy edges on the side facing away from us. It’s much more noticeable on the big screen. Also, as The Dreaded Mike Haynes pointed out in comments, you can see the shoulders of his suit are different colors and patterns. Good catch, Mike!

Here, check it out:

You can see this trailer on the big screen (where it looks very cool) before Iron Man, which lives up to the hype and then some.

You’re right about the shot of two-face. If you pause it at the right moment, you can see a little bit of a burn or something on Harvey’s chin and cheek. It’s definitely him.

Not to mention, if you look at his left shoulder, you can see that his suit is a different color than the other shoulder. It’ll be interesting to see if they show any more of him in future trailers or if this is all we’ll get until July 18th.

Either way, I’m pumped for this movie.

oooh… nice catch, I totally missed that.

I think we may get one more trailer before July 18, but we shall see. I’m really interested to see which turns out to be the king of ‘08 - Iron Man or The Dark Knight.

Someone pointed out the crispy-face the first time I saw the leaked trailer, and so when I saw it Friday with Iron Man I kept an eye out, and sure enough, that is him, which is obviously confirmed by the screenshot.

Having seen this, I must say, as much as I am pumped for Ledger’s Joker, I am dying to see the otherside of Eckhart’s face.

Also interesting to note, wikipedia is citing this article http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-ca-echkart-2008may04,0,932553.story as proof that Two-Face is a vigilante (albeit a violent and crazy one), not a villain, in Dark Knight.

Going on the quote they attribute to Nolan, it seems to me that instead of going batshit crazy and becomng a villain straight-out, he’s going to go batshit crazy and try and take down the Joker by any means. It’ll be interesting, to say the least.

Yeah, I just read that article a little while ago.

There’s another spoiler in there, too, though not much attention has been paid.

“His fiance has been murdered.” I’m pretty sure his fiance is Rachel Dawes

Oh damn, I didn’t even catch that. That’ll certainly have Batman pissed too, which sheds some light on “I see what I have to become to stop a man like him.”

If Rachel bites the dust, I see one of three things happening
a) Two-Face/Batman team up, with Harvey disappearing in to the night after taking down the Joker, to set up his villainous role in the future
b) Batman/Two-Face/Joker three way war extravaganza
c) Batman is talking about Harvey in that line, not the Joker.

Also, somebody over at View Askew mentioned that the van Batman crashes on to at around 1:07 is being driven by the Scarecrow. Anybody with better eyes than mine catch this?

I’m downloading the highest quality version of the trailer to check it out; I’ll get back to you soon on that one, AJ

Just a note before I’m off to catch as many winks as possible - for our weekly discussions, assuming we post transcripts online or whatever, we should dub it “Nerds of the Round Table”
