Fans caught in Jim Gordon’s sting at the end of the “Clown Travel Agency” phase of the viral earlier this month received the following e-mail today:

OK friend, you’re up to bat now. You have yourself a new assignment: Operation Slipknot.

As you can see by clicking on that link, there’s a new page on the GPDMCU website with pictures of several presumedly corrupt police officers, there names, and the current status. We’ll get back to that status in a moment.

Clicking on the “Assignment” button gets you details on what Gordon wants you to do.

OPERATION SLIPKNOT

Gotham Police Major Crimes Unit, in cooperation with the GPD Internal Affairs Division, needs you to help track down numerous offenders that are fugitives from justice. Interestingly, we’ve tracked all of these individuals to the same last known location: Gotham Intercontinental Hotel. But we don’t know where they’ve gone from there.

Call the hotel and convince the concierge to ship you a certain package that’s been sent there for each fugitive. Use the provided intel and whatever means you can to convince him that you’re the intended recipient, your travel plans have changed, and he needs to send the package to you. Once received, you should have all you need to fill in the blanks as to that fugitive’s location.

We will add details about additional fugitives as they become available. Time is of the essence, as we have only a short time before the trail runs cold. Your cooperation in this operation will go a long way. Good luck.

Clicking on the “INTEL” link shows you a letter written by Joseph Candoloro to the “fugitives” explaining how to get the packages.

Letter from Joseph Candoloro to fugitive cops.

So we just need to call the hotel, tell the concierge that we are one of the fugitive cops, give him the reference code based off of the name of the person that we are impersonating, and give him an address where we would like the package sent. The status below the picture tells us the status of the package. If it says “Warrant Issued”, the package is unclaimed. If it says “Package en Route”, the package is… en route. Sounds simple, right? I assume it is - IF YOU CAN GET THROUGH!!!

I’ve been doing this since 10am and still haven’t gotten through for any of the packages, the line is always busy or there’s a recording saying no-one is answering the phone at the moment. As of this writing, I expect there to be five more names popping up within the next hour. Wish me luck on getting one of the packages.
