Sorry for being late, folks – we had some network problems for most of the day and just now got everyone back online.
To make up for it, and because this one is fairly simple, you get a breakdown with this post.
Iron Fist opens up with some crazy-ass kung-fu combos, hitting Red Tornado faster than the eye can see. The man’s like a whirlwind! Rand charges up his Iron Fist chi shit and punches Reddy in the chest so hard that the Tornado is actually dented.
Tornado looks at Danny and Danny knows he done fucked up. Red Tornado knocks Rand across the arena with one punch and then shows Iron Fist what a real whirlwind is all about. He creates a wind funnel around Iron Fist and sucks all the air out of Danny’s lungs, making him pass out. The fight is pretty much over at this point, but Red Tornado knows it’s going to cost a fortune for the body shop to get this dent out of his chest and he’s taking that money out of Iron Fist’s ass. The funnel spins faster and faster until it creates a vacuum, making the external pressure on Rand’s body much lower than the internal pressure.
Iron Fist explodes and it takes the cleaning crew all week to clean up the Iron Guts.
As you may have guessed, Red Tornado won last week with authority.
Here are our standings.
AJ (still from the vicious, vicious Civil Blitzkrieg) maintains his lead with three points for picking Martian Manhunter, Thor, and Red Tornado as winners and eight bonus points for posts on the ViewAskew boards and his Myspace page, for a total of eleven points!
RJP of Between The Staples is hanging strong for someone so frequently wrong with 2 points for his faith in Batman and Red Tornado and eight bonus points for four posts each on Between the Staples and his facebook account, for a total of ten points.
Midknight is right on their tails with three points for supporting Batman, Thor, and Red Tornado and four bonus points for posts on his ComicVine blog and one more bonus point for helping Mike with his search for a batboat for a total of eight points.
Xers has moved up to fourth place with three points for picking Martian Manhunter, Thor, and Red Tornado and two bonus points for posts on Black Planet and Cre8Buzz, for a total of five points
Patrick D. has dropped to fifth place with two points for his faith in Batman and Martian Manhunter and two bonus points for posts on his blog and twitter for a total of four points!
Weston is in sixth place with three points for believing in Martian Manhunter, Thor, and Red Tornado
DougFungus is standing in seventh with two points for backing Batman and The Red Tornado
Finally, in eighth place, Naimad89 has one point for supporting Batman in his week one victory.
As in every previous week, bonus points are making a difference – make sure you pick up an advantage by telling all your friends about this contest and letting me know about the pimpage!
Once again, here are the current standings:

1st place: AJ – 11 points
2nd place: RJP – 10 points
3rd place: MidKnight – 8 points
4th place: Xers- 5 points
5th place: Patrick D. – 4 points
6th place: Weston – 3 points
7th placeDougfungus – 2 points
8th place: Naimad69 – 1 point
This week, we have Booster Gold’s technology vs Captain America’s awesome levels of bad-assery! For clarification’s sake, Skeet has been barred from the arena and we’ve resurrected Steve Rogers for one last whoop-ass session.
I have my favorite, but who’s yours? Head over to Panels of Awesome to vote in the poll (and drop Mike a comment or two, he likes those) and then head back over here to tell me who you voted for and why. As in all first round battles, correct predictions get a point and confirmed incidents of spreading the word about our little tournament get bonus points.
Let’s get this party started.

The phrase "he done fucked up" made me "lol". Anyway,
AJ | April 7, 2008 | 4:19 pmThe phrase “he done fucked up” made me “lol”. Anyway, my pick this week is Captain America, no contest. The fight wouldn’t even last two minutes, Cap would just fuck Booster up.

Crackerbob | April 7, 2008 | 5:15 pmHeh… glad you liked that. I was trying to get an updated Waylon Jennings “It was right about then that the Duke boys knew they were in a whole heap of trouble” type vibe going.
I have to agree on the Cap thing. A Cap/Batman fight would be incredibly awesome – too bad we probably won’t see it in this tournament.
Going with Cap this week Pimpage: http://www.comicvine.com/myvine/MidKnight/blog/&blogId=28423

Crackerbob | April 7, 2008 | 7:27 pmI kinda think that Booster would be fucked even with Skeets.
Is anyone going to root for Booster? We need some conflict here, people!!
Dear Crackerbob, Mike has notified me that if I wish to
DouugFungus | April 7, 2008 | 8:17 pmDear Crackerbob,
Mike has notified me that if I wish to receive points I have to comment on both blogs. I take responsibility in admitting that I did know this at one point and then forgot… I’m dumb that way. If you’d like to re adjust my points this is how I’ve voted throughout the tournament. If you choose not to I’ll understand.
Round 1 Batman Vs. Iron Man – Point
Round 2 Martian Manhunter Vs. The Flash – No Point
Round 3 Thor Vs. Spider-Man – No Point
Round 4 Iron Fist Vs. Red Tornado – Point
Round 5 Booster Gold Vs. Captain America – Voted Captain America
Hey Doug. I don't think anyone on here would begrudge
Crackerbob | April 7, 2008 | 8:20 pmHey Doug. I don’t think anyone on here would begrudge you that point.
Give me a moment and I’ll update the standings.
Sorry; I was all for Cap way before I read
Xers | April 7, 2008 | 8:21 pmSorry; I was all for Cap way before I read comments!
It’s not that I even like Cap (not that I dislike him either btw; nor Booster for that matter). I just see a really good fight that Cap can’t lose and Booster can’t win.
I don't think I really liked Steve Rogers until right
Crackerbob | April 7, 2008 | 8:30 pmI don’t think I really liked Steve Rogers until right before Civil War, so it could be argued that I missed the best of Cap.
Thanks for your kindness
DouugFungus | April 7, 2008 | 10:47 pmThanks for your kindness
Not a problem.
Crackerbob | April 8, 2008 | 6:32 amNot a problem.
Booster wins the sympathy vote. I also preferred the first
Robert | April 8, 2008 | 1:28 pmBooster wins the sympathy vote. I also preferred the first run of Boosters series to the latest version but then again, once the latest is traded then I might enjoy it more.
PS – Cap is dead right so its kinda a loopsided victory!
Dude, you may be more convincing if you could read
Crackerbob | April 8, 2008 | 1:31 pmDude, you may be more convincing if you could read or spell
It’s lopsided, one “o”, and I specifically said that we resurrected Steve. Zombies beat future dudes every time. =op
Ok, you've said you think Steve would win but then
Crackerbob | April 8, 2008 | 1:32 pmOk, you’ve said you think Steve would win but then you gave Booster your sympathy vote – which is it, Robert?
I have Zoombies and i hate spellling. Booster wins. Cap

Ugh getting to this a little late. I've been only
Weston | April 9, 2008 | 3:03 amUgh getting to this a little late. I’ve been only commenting on one blog. Never too late to join in I say. Oh i’d say Captain America takes this fight. As for the other fights I voted Manhunter, Thor, Red Tornado
Ok Weston, I went back on Mike's old entries and
Crackerbob | April 9, 2008 | 10:54 amOk Weston, I went back on Mike’s old entries and found your comments, so I’ll award those points.
This is the last week I’ll do this, people… I can understand people’s confusion, but Mike and I have been doing this for five weeks now. If you can’t be bothered to read the posts where we remind everyone to vote in the poll and comment here, then it’s not worth our effort to go back and verify points when you realize your mistake.
I don’t mean to be rude, and I’m not really all that annoyed, but each week adds another set of comments we’d have to sift through and Mike and I both have other things to be doing.
So, again, this is the last week I’ll be retroactively awarding points.
Robert, I'm beginning to believe that you are being wrong
MidKnight | April 9, 2008 | 11:13 amRobert, I’m beginning to believe that you are being wrong on purpose. I mean come on now, Spidey beating Thor? Are you high dude?
I think Robert's purposefully being controversial in order to get
Crackerbob | April 9, 2008 | 11:33 amI think Robert’s purposefully being controversial in order to get people talking, which I appreciate no matter how much I may rag on him.
And really, he’s not COMPLETELY insane. If Spidey could get David Blake away from his walking stick, he could easily beat him down, by extension defeating Thor.
And if Booster Gold wasn’t portrayed as being such a bumbling fool, it wouldn’t be out of the question for his future tech to enable him to beat Cap.
Spider-Man is the underdog of the Marvel U and will
Robert | April 9, 2008 | 2:44 pmSpider-Man is the underdog of the Marvel U and will always get my vote. Thor is a *GOD* whereas Spider-Man is the inner geek in anyone who reads him. How on fricken earth can anyone… anyone relate to Thor?! You cannot but Parker works. I know ppl just look at all those muscles and get all geek-wet but I prefer to put the vote on a scientist like Parker than a myth like Thor.
Pls remember that Booster found the entrance into Batman’s batcave (sure the new Blue Beetle helped) but I still think Booster can’t be that much of a gimp that he can’t beat a dead Captain America (sorry, I don’t believe in this revived Steve Rogers, sounds Zombe-ish to me)
I can't relate to Spider-man, either, but your point stands.
Crackerbob | April 9, 2008 | 5:33 pmI can’t relate to Spider-man, either, but your point stands. I’m not enjoying the current Thor series so much because he’s a better character than Spidey – I’m enjoying it because it’s well-written.
That doesn’t change the fact that Thor would kick Spider-man’s ass, though.
I may be a better person and cooler than Michael Vick, but I’m pretty sure that he could beat the shit out of me.
Robert, I couldn`t have summed up that statement better myself.
DouugFungus | April 9, 2008 | 8:29 pmRobert, I couldn`t have summed up that statement better myself. Go Spidy!
I believe I speak for everyone called Crackerbob when I
Crackerbob | April 10, 2008 | 10:48 pmI believe I speak for everyone called Crackerbob when I say…
Fuck Spider-man and his crushed over-ripe melon head. What kind of moron chooses his 500 year old aunt over his supermodel wife?
There’s some really weird, creepy, necrophiliac shit going on there and I want no part of it!
Ah hey, note that its obvious that it wasn't Spidey
Robert | April 14, 2008 | 4:54 pmAh hey, note that its obvious that it wasn’t Spidey picking his Aunt over his wife. It was the EIC who made the choice and forced it down the throats of all the fans.
Thanks Doug. Good to see more Spidey fans out there.
Robert | April 14, 2008 | 5:23 pmThanks Doug. Good to see more Spidey fans out there.
All this Thor is the new black is so yesterday… hehehehe…
Crap decision by creator doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Crackerbob | April 14, 2008 | 6:57 pmCrap decision by creator doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Spidey chose his 500 year old aunt over his supermodel wife – the dude has issues.
Speaking of which, what if Aunt May really did die way back when she almost died the first time and this Aunt May is a Skrull?
Parker gave up his marriage for a SKRULL!
