Week Three of the greatest tournament in the history of mankind has come to an end, and Thor is victorious! My streak has continued, ladies and gentlemen.
This week, we have Iron Fist and Red Tornado battling it out for the privilege of being Thor’s next victim. I’ve yet to make up my mind on this one, so make sure to vote in the poll on POA and then come back over here to influence my vote and lock yours in for points!
Speaking of points, here are our standings.
AJ (of the vicious, vicious Civil Blitzkrieg) has taken sole possession of first place with two points his faith in Martian Manhunter and Thor and six points for pimping our tournament on myspace and the ViewAskew boards three times each, giving him a total of eight points.
On a side note, check out AJ’s essay on how wrong he was to doubt Batman.
Dropping to second place as a result of his foolish belief in Spider-man, RJP of Between The Staples has 1 point for his faith in Batman and six bonus points for three posts each on Between The Staples and his Facebook, giving him a total of seven points
I’m telling you kids, the bonus points are giving people a big advantage. Go on your favorite message boards, post to your myspace, comicspace, facebook… post ANYWHERE! Just pimp us and give me a link and you too can rack up the bonus points!
Back to the standings, Midknight is holding strong in third place with two points for supporting Batman and Thor and three bonus points for posts on his ComicVine blog for a total of five points.
Patrick D. has dropped to fourth place with two points for his faith in Batman and Martian Manhunter and two bonus points for posts on his blog and twitter for a total of four points!
In fifth place, Xers has two points for backing Martian Manhunter and Thor!
Finally, tied for sixth place, Dougfungus and Naimad89 have one point each for supporting Batman in his week one victory.
I know it may seem like some people’s leads are insurmountable with the bonus points they have accrued and are likely to accrue in the future, but there’s no limit to the bonus points that you can earn and the points for battles increase each round! So make sure you participate early and often - it’s nowhere near over!
In summary, here are our current standings:
1st place: AJ - 8 points
2nd place: RJP - 7 points
3rd place: MidKnight - 5 points
4th place: Patrick D - 4 points
5th place: Xers - 2 points
6th place: Naimad69 and Dougfungus - 1 point
Once again, don’t forget to head over to Panels of Awesome to cast your vote in this week’s battle between Iron Fist and Red Tornado and then come back here to lock that vote in and tell me who to vote for!

THOR Sucks sour milk and loves it while getting the popular vote — nothing more.
Reddy takes Fisty with a quick spin, martial problems / arts aside. ![]()
…and yet you seemed pretty certain that Spider-Man would win based solely on his popularity. Not only are you out of touch with mainstream comic-dom, you’re also a flip-flopper! Do you work with Fox News, perhaps? =op
Care to elaborate on why you think “Reddy” will win? Based on your unsupported claims that he’ll win and your track record of being flat-out wrong, I’m tempted to vote Iron Fist at the moment. =op
Jeeze; I’m hoping this one’s gonna be a hands-down vote and that Red gets it. He’s got the advantage as far as his traditional powers go. Otherwise I couldn’t see Iron Fist posing much of a challenge.
Neither are my fav. characters but I really despise Iron Fist: I don’t see why he hasn’t died/been permanently killed out of the Marvel U. I think the only time I really liked Iron fist was (well, it wasn’t in the mainstream/earth 616) when in one of the Exiles’ missions: Colossus (non mainstream as well) put him in a head lock and crushed it like a grape and killed him. His last words were something like, “Colossus….you’re…squeezing too…tight!”
>:D Awesome.
1st place: AJ - 8 points
2nd place: RJP - 7 points
3rd place: MidKnight - 5 points
Why superman isn’t in the first place? oh….
Okay. I agree w/ Mike that Reddy can kick up a tornado that no martial arts can stop or avoid. Iron Fist would just get spin around until he is ripped apart.
Nice note on my Spider-Man claim and Thor… bugger.
BTW - I might be out for this week as my site has gotten seriously hacked and I have no more control of it!
Archie - your syntax and/or grammar is kinda wacky there, dude. I have no idea what you’re trying to say.
RJP - Are you serious or is this some kind of April Fool’s thing?
Damn…this one’s tough. I don’t know much about Red Tornado, and I am an Iron First fan…but I must go with the Tornado this round, just on sheer power. I have a feeling he would rip Rand in half…though not before Iron Fist put up some fight.
Very well, you have all convinced me to back Red Tornado.
On a side note, I’ve been thinking of doing a write-up of each week’s battle, similar to the one I did for Iron Man and Batman. Would there be any interest in me doing that?
Definately. Arguing back and forth about who will win every week only building up to read the results within a few words is not the greatest way to call a fight lol.
I definitely see your point; I just didn’t want to throw those up there if I’m the only one getting enjoyment out of them, you know?
No, I did a write-up of how I imagined the battle between Batman and Iron Man going in the comments of my week 1 results/week 2 discussion post.

On a completely different topic, if you haven’t already, y’all should definitely check out “Everybody’s Dead” by Brian Lynch (Angel AtF, Spike Asylum, lots of other stuff). Issue 2 came out today, and the series is awesome so far.
Ok y’all, here’s the deal: I have a massive migraine tonight and I’ll probably crash at any time. I have work and a funeral to go to tomorrow, but I’ll try to at least do Manhunter and Flash and get that up tomorrow night and then get Thor vs Spidey up this weekend at the latest.
After that, starting with Tornado vs Iron Fist, I’ll put the write-up with the announcement of the winner.
The problem is that this will delay the announcement and standings a bit on this blog - are y’all okay with that or would you rather I get the standings up ASAP and then the write-up later?
Speak up!
Yeah, do standings first; write ups later (I’d think). And maybe you could pick randome folk to do write ups? or let some of those leading in points contribute to the write ups to give you ideas for the write up.
Hey Cracker,
Don’t kill yerself man. Write ups are great to read whenever they come out. I think ppl just want to know who’s beating who in points overall. Personally, I prefer the write-ups whenever you can get to them.
Guys, I’m sorry - I really wanted to try to get the Manhunter vs Flash one up tonight, but I am just completely out of gas.
I’ll get both up by Sunday at the latest, I promise.
I agree with Robert.
No biggie; and I don’t think you have to do one on EVERY one of them; just do one here and there: and make ‘em short and sweet ya know?

I was seeing hits from ViewAskew.com and didn’t know why. Now it all makes sense.
