Crackerbob’s Convention Tour 2008 - Megacon!
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting and don't forget to tip your waitress!!
It has now been confirmed - I’ll be starting off my convention tour of 2008 with Megacon, right here in sunny Orlando, FL.
And, really, this will be the ONLY stop on my convention tour of 2008. Cons cost money, kids, and since I’m shopping for a house to move, possibly may be changing jobs very soon, and may even have a wedding to pay for before the end of the year, I just can’t really afford to be tossing around cash.
Then why am I spending money on Megacon, you ask? For one, it’s local. I won’t have to pay for a hotel or any of that crap, just my ticket and the gas it takes me to drive to the convention center. Alright, fine - and the money I’ll spend on swag. But no hotel, and that saves alot of money there.
Second, check out the guest list!
- Joe Quesada (I know, but at least I can theoretically give him shit about ruining Spidey.)
- Ethan Van Sciver
- Darwyn Cooke
- John Romita, Jr.
- Brandon Peterson
- Phil Noto
- Adam Kubert
- David Finch
- Steve McNiven
- Mark Waid
- Tone Rodriguez
- Chuck Dixon
- Greg Horn
- Tim Townsend
- Amanda Conner
- Jimmy Palmiotti
- Michael Golden
- Mark Texeira
- Daniel Way
- Billy Tucci
- Arne Starr
- A bunch of people that I really don’t care about, but you might…here’s their list.
There are a TON more people coming, but these are the ones that I’m particularly interested in. The comics list is a bit heavy on artists and light on writers, but it’s still a good guest list. Also, they failed to mention it on the Megacon website (I’m sure it’s an oversight, much like forgetting to mention my appearance), but the guys from Comic Geek Speak will also be there. I’m looking forward to - hopefully - meeting those guys.
If you’re interested in where I’ll most likely be spending my time at the con, here are the panels that I’m interested in:
